Good Job Good Effort T-Shirt
On June 5, 2012, after the Celtics' comeback win put the Heat down 3-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals, most of the crowd in Miami was too disappointed to show much support for the home team. But nine-year-old Heat fan Jack Meyer wasn't ready to give up on the season, and was overheard by ABC microphones above the tunnel to the locker room repeatedly yelling to his heroes, "Good job! Good effort!"
Responding to thousands of critics who assumed he was being sarcastic, Meyer said the next day, "You're wrong. I was being enthusiastic. I was saying the truth. I would never hurt the Heat's feelings like that, and I totally meant it when I said good job, good effort." After his words became an instant internet meme, his enthusiasm payed off, as the Heat went on to win the title, assuring his cheer a memorable place in the 2012 NBA Playoffs.
